Center of the Future: The Game of Love

We both want to be with you, she says — I love you

And I believe her, and I still love her, just not the same

Kind of love as hers — Longing and deep desire

Threatening to overpower every other waking thought

Obsession — And no escape even in dreams — Needing

To want to be with the other — And we will always love

Each other — No matter what happens, how much pain

And sorrow comes from being apart from you

There is always a way, a possibility for happiness

Bob Dylan | One More Cup of Coffee

I was always hungry for love. Just once, I wanted to know what it was like to get my fill of it — to be fed so much love I couldn’t take any more. Just once.
Haruki Murakami (via thenocturnals)
I once had a thousand desires, but in my one desire to know you, all else melted away.
Rumi (via pax-caelestis)
Spend five minutes at the beginning of each day remembering we all want the same things (to be happy and be loved) and we are all connected to one another.
Dalai Lama (via bohemianspirit)
Everybody has this guilt complex that they’re no good, that they’re not talented, that they’re useless, that there’s something wrong with them. It’s not true. There’s nothing wrong with any of you out there, there’s nothing wrong with you. You shouldn’t feel guilty about wanting. People will repress themselves from even allowing themselves to want…. At least allow yourselves to want.
John Lennon (via perfumedsecrets)
Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) In The Arms of Sleep - Paris 30 September 2010

sleep will not come to this tired body now
peace will not come to this lonely heart
there are some things i’ll live without
but i want you to know that i need you right now
i need you tonite
i steal a kiss from her sleeping shadow moves
cause i’ll always miss her wherever she goes
and i’ll always need her more than she could ever need me
i need someone to ease my mind
but sometimes a someone is so hard to find
and i’ll do anything to keep her here tonite
and i’ll say anything to make her feel alright
and i’ll be anything to keep her here tonite
cause i want you to stay, with me
i need you tonite
she comes to me like an angel out of time
as i play the part of a saint on my knees
there are some things i’ll live without
but i want you to know that i need you right now
suffer my desire
suffer my desire
suffer my desire for you

Paradise is surrounded by what we dislike; the fires of hell are surrounded by what we desire.
Mevlana Rumi
Leonard Cohen - Bird On A Wire (1972)

“I have saved all my ribbons for thee.
If I, if I have been unkind,
I hope that you can just let it go by.
If I, if I have been untrue
it’s just that I thought a lover had to be some kind of liar too.

Like a baby, stillborn,
Like a beast with his horn
I have torn everyone who reached out for me.
But I swear by this song
And by all that I have done wrong
I will make it all up to thee.

Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry no more. It’s over now, it’s over babe, don’t cry no more. I say don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry anymore. It’s over. It’s finished. It’s completed. It has been paid for.

Oh like a bird on the wire,
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.”
